Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Administrative Assistant-Office Operations provides reception support, and general office assistance.  The incumbent is also responsible for providing information in a professional manner in response to public/program inquiries, and for preparing and disseminating program courses and information as directed. The position requires a person who communicates professionally in an office setting, is multitask orientated, is outgoing (personable), is reliable, and who enjoys working in a team orientated environment.

Forestry Management Training Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Training Coordinator shall coordinate the Anishnawbe Forestry Operator Training and Apprenticeship Program (AFOTAP).  The Training Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the delivery of the program working with community and industry partners in the Greenstone region.  The Training Coordinator consults with the Project Manager on all aspects of program operations, including student supports, program development and delivery.

Trainee Success Navigator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Trainee Success Navigator will work to assist students academically, socially and/or personally in an effort to improve student retention, persistence and graduation rates.  The Trainee Success Navigator will be responsible for developing relationships and implementing strategies that increase success for individual students.  He/she will work in conjunction with the Anishnawbe Forestry Operator Training and Apprenticeship Program (AFOTAP) project team to provide interventions to support the transition into the AFOTAP program and work placements.  The Trainee Success Navigator builds trusting relationships and inspires commitment to student progress and to set goals; encourage behaviours that support positive outcomes; and connect to resources/navigate systems that support success.  The position involves extensive travel and requires the incumbent to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends, in order to support the program and / or student needs.

Essential Skills Instructor (2)

Oshki‐Pimache‐O‐Win:  The  Wenjack  Education  Institute  (OSHKI‐WENJACK)  established  by  Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) offers post‐secondary education and training programs.  We offer  choice, accessibility, flexibility, opportunities and support services for our students.  The  Anishinawbe Forestry Operator Training and Apprenticeship Program at OSHKI‐WENJACK will  require two (2) contract term instructors to provide instruction in Basic Literacy and Essential  Skills.    
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
We currently have two (2) 4‐week instructor contract positions for an Essential Skills Instructor  (30 hours per week) required for our Forestry training program. The Essential Skills Instructor  will provide direct instruction to small groups of Indigenous adult learners in a classroom  environment and provide one‐to‐one tutorial instruction for adult learners. The Instructor will  be required to travel and stay in rural and remote communities in the Greenstone/Ogoki Forest  region during the 4‐week training period (tentatively August 5‐30, 2019).

POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Director of Student Success, the Community Liaison and Recruitment  Officer  will  provide  information  and  advice  to  potential  students  and  participate  in  the  development and implementation of recruitment and liaison strategies to achieve the student  enrollment  targets  for  each  program  offered  at  the  Oshki‐Pimache‐O‐Win:  The  Wenjack  Education Institute.

Finance/Human Resource Officer

Under the Supervision of the Executive Director the Finance/Human Resource Officer will contribute to the overall success of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute as a member of the Senior Management team by effectively managing all accounting and administrative systems for the organization.

This is a ten (10) month contract position with a six (6) month probationary period, with a possible six (6) month extension

Part Time Instructor

PURPOSE:

The Part-time instructors will teach various courses to post-secondary students using teaching models that will engage, mentor and support students to achieve their education goals. The Instructor will also adhere to the administrative requirements of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win and partnership institutions.
